The Province of Granada is a fascinating place and there is much to see. One of the most striking features of Granada is the extreme change in the variables of the areas.

You can ski, see amazing natural attractions such as Loja’s mountain range or the spectacular hot springs of Alhama, hike or just enjoy the warm sun beating down upon you.

If you love to ski then being so close to the spectacular Sierra Nevada and it’s stunningly beautiful snowy peaks will take your breath away.

If you prefer historical buildings, then you must see the Cathedral and the Alhambra Palace located in the city of Granada. This palace is a beautiful jewel in Spain’s Moorish origins and it is difficult not to be swept along with the romance of the palace.

The Province of Malaga

Malaga has many gorgeous white towns and small, traditional villages and has lots of charm.

See the historical town of Antequera with its many spires of the churches and the Moorish fortress looking down upon it. You can also see there the fascinating roman baths and nearby attractions of the El Torcal natural park and the beautiful lakes of El Chorro.

Archidona is a small town that was once an even smaller village. There are gorgeous picnic spots here on the area of Lake Grande and there are many historical sites to see such as the Moorish Mosque and the Virgen De Gracia Sanctuary.

The Province of Cordoba

Cordoba is extremely varied; it has gorgeous rolling plains, to mountain ranges that are jagged but beautiful. There are lots of small white washed villages and towns dotted around the area.

This region is famous for its white wines and dry wine. There are olive groves a plenty here in Cordoba and they feature on much of the landscape. Iznajar is a sweet town that sits within the River Genil Valley. This town is the natural entrance to Sierra Natural Park. There are also the ruins of a 1,200 year old castle here to wonder at.

Rute is a charming town with much to do. There are museums (including the Anis Museum), a Moorish castle, a Baroque Church, plenty of restaurants, a nearby famous donkey sanctuary and so much more. Guided tours are offered at the Museo Artesanal del Mantecado (a sweet factory and shop) which is certainly worth visiting.  The Sierra Natural Park which is not far away is also well worth a visit for its dramatic and rugged mountain range.
